Get Involved

The ENEC welcomes anyone willing to donate their time. We have an array of opportunities, which helps to ensure that volunteers feel comfortable and safe in their roles. We simply ask that volunteers treat clients and staff with respect and dignity. There are three types of volunteer categories:

Client Volunteers

generally assist front-office staff with the day-to-day aspects of the ENEC, including answering phones, completing data entry, and helping clients apply for jobs. Many of the client volunteers have personally benefited from the ENEC’s services and want to give back.

Project Volunteers

generally assist in facilitating projects such as job fairs, trainings, or on-site recruitment events. Some project volunteers have special skills such as computer repair and allow the ENEC to hold “Tech Repair Days.” These events allow clients and members of the community to bring their slow or non-working computers (or other digital devices) to the center to be diagnosed and evaluated by a technology expert.

Community Volunteers

include those who need to complete community-service hours such as students, interns, and court-mandated individuals. Their roles are determined on a case-by-case basis but generally include many of the tasks listed above.
