Save the Date: Raise a Glass to 50 Years of Community

This September, celebrate the Bloomfield Garfield Corporation’s 50th anniversary with a special collaboration that gives back to the neighborhood we all call home.

Join us on Saturday, September 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Two Frays Brewery, 5113 Penn Avenue, for the For Our Neighbors Summer Ale Release Party. Brewed and packaged with the assistance of BGC Board members, this limited-edition beer celebrates five decades of community impact. The celebration will feature music by DJ Paris Not France, snacks, crafts, and an opportunity to learn more about available volunteer roles and meet members of the BGC Board of Directors & Staff.

More than a brewery, Two Frays Brewery has become a cornerstone of the Penn Avenue community. Known for creating collaborative beers that support local nonprofits, the brewery brings people together while raising awareness for organizations making a difference across Pittsburgh.

A portion of proceeds from every draft pour and 4-pack sale of the For Our Neighbors Summer Ale sold will benefit BGC’s Neighbors in Need Emergency Grant Program, which has provided emergency financial assistance to local households since 2012. The program helps residents cover sudden essential expenses such as medical bills, legal fees, and minor vehicle repairs. In 2025, it assisted 28 households distributing approximately $13,000 in emergency assistance to neighbors in need.

Since 1976, the Bloomfield Garfield Corporation has partnered with residents, businesses, and community organizations to strengthen Garfield and surrounding East End neighborhoods through housing, workforce development, youth programs, neighborhood revitalization, and the arts.  Mark your calendar, invite your friends, and join us in celebrating 50 years of community. Every can of For Our Neighbors Summer Ale supports neighbors in need while toasting the next 50 years of the Bloomfield Garfield Corporation.
