African Americans have made strides in the world of classical music and continue to
do so today. This Concert honors African-American advancement in classical music and features
Pittsburgh native Michael Jackson singing music in the African-American spiritual tradition. He will be joined by Soprano Anqwenique Wingfield, and students from the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in an evening of wonderful music pulled a culture from Slavery to Freedom and beyond.

Michael Jackson is rapidly gaining recognition for his exciting performances. As a sought-after Bass-Baritone and actor in the Southwestern Pennsylvania area, Jackson appears with various companies as well as education outreach partnerships and organizations throughout the region. Working with various companies including Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Undercroft Opera, Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater, August Wilson Center for African-American Culture, Kuntu Repertory Theater and many others.
