The BGC’s Youth Employment Program works with young adults ages 17 through 21 who are not in school and who have an interest in gaining paid work experience for bright futures in a wide variety of career opportunities in medical, financial, technological, and customer service fields.

In partnership with Neighborhood Learning Alliance (NLA), the BGC provides Community Works, a year-round, in-school employment program, at Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12, Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy 6-12 and Career Connections Charter High School.  Community Works helps more than 75 students a year with career development, job training and work experience.

The BGC also offers an Out-of-School Youth Employment Program for youth ages 17-21.  This program provides assistance with finding a job, career guidance and temporary job placements.  The Eastside Neighborhood Employment Center, which the BGC manages and which shares a space with the Youth Development Office at 5321 Penn Avenue, complements these efforts by recruiting teens into the City’s summer youth employment program.

For more information about these programs, please call the Youth Development Office at 412-441-9833.
